Candidate holding a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent + an official Master’s degree in the Humanities, History, History of Art, Philosophy, General and Comparative Literature and/or related disciplines with a curriculum that includes training in research methodology with a minimum of 6 ECTS and a research paper (Master’s Dissertation) equivalent to a minimum of 6 ECTS.
Prior knowledge of English. Minimum level required: B1, although a higher level will receive positive consideration.
A minimum level of English is required to enable students to read international publications and attend international conferences.
In the case of foreign students whose native language is not Spanish, a minimum B1 level in this language will be required, although a higher level will receive positive consideration.
Additional training: no additional training required.

In accordance with the provisions of Article 7 of Royal Decree 99/2011, of 28 January, regulating official doctoral studies, in addition to the general academic requirements for access, the Academic Committee establishes other admission and selection criteria.
The body responsible for admitting students to the Doctorate Program is the Academic Committee of the program, chaired by the Program Coordinator, who will verify that the candidate meets the general academic requirements for admission.
The Academic Committee of each program is made up of the program coordinator, who chairs it, the assistant coordinators (doctors with proven experience directing Doctoral Dissertations over the last five years and/or at least one six-year period of research and who hold the category of Full or Associate Professor in one of the Universities participating in the program), the team leaders and/or heads of Research Departments, who must meet the requirements laid down in Royal Decree 99/2011. The coordinator and assistant coordinators of the program may propose to the Director of the School that the Academic Committee be made up of, at most, two lead researchers of the active competitive projects included in the program and/or two researchers from foreign institutions of recognized prestige, including as an option a national researcher of recognized prestige.
The program coordinator may also appoint an Academic Committee secretary from the program´s faculty (Article 9.2 of the Internal Regulations).
