Admissions Profile
This doctoral program is intended for students with a background in human, social or communication sciences, with a particular interest in the influence of mediated communication and information and communication technologies on individuals and society as a whole. It is recommended that students possess a solid knowledge of foreign languages, especially English, for the study of specialized international resources.
Specific Criteria for Admission
The Academic Committee is responsible for evaluating those applications that fit the recommended admissions profile and requirements, and putting forward proposals for admission. The Academic Committee will review each case individually to confirm whether or not the candidate’s previous training is suitable for the doctorate program, and whether the candidate should complete any additional training.
The Academic Committee will evaluate the application for admission based on the following criteria:
– Previous qualifications, priority will be given to those relating to Communication Sciences (2 points out of 10).
– Academic transcripts (4 points out of 10, of which 3 will be for the Bachelor’s degree and 1 for the Master’s degree).
– Proposal describing research experience and interests (1 point out of 10).
– Letters of recommendation -a maximum of two- (2 points out of 10).
– Other qualifications such as internships, research grants or publications (1 point out of 10).
Admission procedures for students with special educational needs due to disability.
In the case of students with special educational needs due to disability, the Academic Committee of each program will issue a pre-admission report evaluating the possibility of a modified curriculum, courses and/or alternative studies in accordance to the principles of equal opportunity, without prejudice to the competencies of the universities´ Equal Opportunity programs.
