Applicants who do not submit the letter will not be awarded 2 points on the admission scale.
- Other merits, such as mobility stays, research grants or publications, as well as accredited knowledge of foreign languages other than English or levels of English over B1 (up to 2 points out of 10).
In order to be admitted, it will be necessary to exceed the minimum threshold of 5 points, according to the parameters set out above.
Once the documentation submitted has been examined and depending on the points obtained in the admission scale, the Academic Committee may call the applicant to a personal interview with one of its members in order to provide further information and discuss with the candidate about the merits provided for the purpose of his/her definitive admission to the PhD programme.
Likewise, the Academic Committee may establish the endorsement of a researcher as possible Director/s of the doctoral thesis.
The Academic Committee, once it has verified the applicant's compliance with the entry requirements, heard the person in charge of the line of research to which the PhD student intends to be assigned and examined his/her file and curriculum, must decide on admission within the period established by the CEINDO. The Academic Committee, where appropriate, will establish the need for the applicant to undertake specific training complements in order to achieve the recommended entry profile. The Committee's communication will be made when the applicant is admitted.
The duration of full-time PhD studies is of four years, starting from the formalisation, after admission to the programme, of the student's enrolment, until the submission of the application to deposit the doctoral thesis. The PhD student may apply for an extension of one year plus an additional year, subject to authorization by the Academic Committee.
Doctoral students who wish to take part-time studies must apply to the Academic Committee in their application for admission, which will assess the circumstances alleged and decide what is appropriate.
The Academic Committee of the doctoral programme may authorize part-time doctoral studies, provided that this is consistent with the programme's objectives and objectives. The granting of part-time study will be ratified by the Academic Committee at the time of admission.

Part-time PhD students who wish to switch to full-time studies when the circumstances that justify their part-time dedication cease to exist must make a reasoned request to the corresponding Academic Committee so that, taking into account the alleged circumstances and the activities carried out to date by the PhD student, it may decide what is appropriate, always following the procedures established in the CEINDO.
The admission criteria and procedures are common to both full-time and part-time students.
In the case of students with special educational needs due to disability, the academic committee of each programme will assess, by means of a report prior to their admission, the advisability of introducing curricular adaptations, itineraries or alternative studies that make the principle of equal opportunities effective, without prejudice to the competences of the existing Offices and services for Equality in each university.
